Jack People Overview Sarah Jack helps life sciences clients resolve their complex intellectual property disputes, from the early stages of litigation through trial and appeal.

Sarah’s experience spans a wide range of technologies in the life sciences, including medical devices and both large and small molecule innovations. An insightful strategist and a determined advocate, Sarah designs litigation strategies that keep her clients’ goals at the forefront. From the earliest phases of litigation, she focuses on the big picture to effectively navigate legal hurdles and deliver the best possible client outcome.

Clients including pharmaceutical innovators and leading medical technology companies have relied on Sarah for representation in high-stakes litigation. In a trial for Exela Pharma Sciences, Sarah helped secure a jury verdict of noninfringement of two patents and invalidity of a third patent — protecting Exela from an $89 million damages demand. At the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, she argued an appeal for Microsoft relating to three-dimensional medical imaging technology, winning affirmance of a Patent Trial and Appeal Board invalidity ruling.

Prior to joining Fish & Richardson, Sarah served as a law clerk to the Honorable Kathleen M. O’Malley of the Federal Circuit. She now applies her deep insights into the inner workings of the Federal Circuit appeals systems to effectively advocate for her clients in appellate matters.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys attending live music events, staying active, and spending quality time with her family and dogs.
